Welcome to our revamped website.

The new version carries on from the old but some things have changed. We hope we have improved the structure of the site so newcomers and experienced visitors alike can navigate their way around and find what they want.

The new website versus the old.

The old site was designed and run by our dear colleague Paul Castle before he unexpectedly died. He put in a lot of work producing synopses of important/key reports. All of those are now in the archive. We may not be able to match his industry or expertise so we’ve concentrated on brief information on the fluoridation story, pointing the way to references and providing a simple commentary on advances as we see them. We also provide links to other information on the internet on the links page.

So, the casual visitor is welcome to browse the site and your feedback is welcome. However, if you are looking for specific information then go to “Key Issues”. There you will find a menu of ten issues. Each of these ten issues follows the same basic format:

  1. A summary of the key points
  2. A lengthy illustrated narrative last updated in 2012/3. Both online and printable versions are usually available
  3. A list of the key papers and reports published since 2012/3, and
  4. A summary of the main points raised by these more recent papers and reports.

If you are unable to find the information you require then contact BFS by email.
